Mad Dawg Wrestlers Place at California State Wrestling Tournaments
Danielle Garner, a freshman at Rosemont High School and representing the Mad
Dawg Wrestling Club, took home the California state championship at the Frosh-
Soph USA Wrestling Grade State Tournament. The competition was held in
Fresno on March 10-11. Wrestling at 142 pounds, Garner was undefeated,
winning five straight matches. Garner pinned her opponent, Maddie Konopka, in
the championship finals.
Kingston Cruzart, earned a 5 th place medal at the SCWAY Folkstyle State Wrestling
Tournament held in Fresno on March 24 th and 25 th . Cruzart competed in the 7-8
age bracket at 46 pounds. Cruzart advanced to the semi-finals but lost a close
match and then dropped into the consolation rounds. His overall record for the
tournament was 3-2.
